About

Chris was brought up in Talyllyn, Tywyn and finally Ystumtuen, Aberystwyth. Chris undertook his formal training at Coleg Meirionedd where he studied craft level Carpentry & Joinery and advanced certificate Purpose Made Joinery.

He was apprenticed to, and later worked with, his father in Ystumtuen where he gained experience designing, producing and installing purpose made joinery suitable for the architecture of this area. Chris undertook many projects working with and around the traditional stone buildings of this part of Wales.

Chris moved to London in his early twenties. Initially he worked for a shopfitting company, followed by a specialist cabinetmakers and later a construction company. He then set up on his own, progressing from a small to a larger workshop. Latterly he was responsible for setting up and managing a large-scale joinery workshop for one of his construction clients.

During some twenty years in London, Chris produced high quality joinery for a wide variety of property types from small London flats to large suburban houses. This included producing solid framed architectural joinery for Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian properties, listed/heritage properties and modern properties and conversions. Though most work was for private clients, Chris was also involved in a number of commercial projects.

Now having been back in Aberystwyth since 2006, Chris has built up a good solid client base, many of whom supply regular, repeat work. Chris has a fully fitted modern workshop based on the Glanyrafon Industrial Estate.
